Could this restaurant have a better name? The combination of a renown and beloved public figure and unbelievable food has aura galore!

When Coach Geno Auriemma transformed the former Cavey’s Restaurant into Cafe Aura in 2019, it wasn’t our first collaboration. Ryan Marketing has partnered with Geno’s Restaurant Group since 2006, beginning with the opening of Geno’s Fast Break at Mohegan Sun and supporting several restaurant concepts over the years. Cafe Aura became the next successful chapter in that ongoing relationship.

The challenge was to create a brand that was crisp and modern but still able to evoke the feelings of old-world Italian cuisine and rustic elegance.

With the name holding such significance, we knew it had to stand on its own. When designing the brand Ryan Marketing held to the descriptive words the client was hoping would be top of mind when thinking of Cafe Aura. The brand created is strong yet approachable, sophisticated yet rustic and crisp, which is what everything revolves around.

 Shifting strategies through a global pandemic.

Even COVID-19 couldn’t keep Cafe Aura from connecting with their patrons. Strategies shifted and we got digital! Introducing ‘Cafe Aura at Home’, delivery and to-go options, influencer partnerships and catering for ‘salut’s’ (donated meals) to our hero’s at Manchester Hospital, first responders, MARC of Manchester and so many more. We help spread the belief that all Mothers are Heroes in early May and Coach Auriemma virtually dined with patrons at home. Slam dunk, anyone?

Our sometimes-more-than-monthly email blasts have provided an effective platform to share all things Cafe Aura—news, recipes, upcoming events, menus, giveaways, and more! In six short months, our list has grown organically to include 2,500+ subscribers, and campaigns consistently have open rates between 40-50%. That is more than the industry average of 19.77%!*
